Every player who goes to an elite college team has dreams of a NCAA Tournament run. Archie Goodwin had that dream when he played at Kentucky last season, unfortunately the season did not end the way he had hoped. Goodwin, who now plays for the Phoenix Suns, says he is living out his dream by watching the success of this year’s Wildcat team.
“I couldn’t be happier for them,” Goodwin told Paul Coro of AZ Central. “We had a really hard time last year. … I’m living out my tournament dreams through them.”
“Of course, I wanted to be a part of something like that and didn’t get a chance to but now that I’m here, I wouldn’t change if I could go back,” Goodwin added. “I’m happy to be here and with this group of guys and try to get a championship here.”
Goodwin is playing an average of 10 minutes per game while scoring 3.3 point and grabbing 1.7 rebounds. He played a couple games in the NBA’s DLeague to improve his game at the beginning of this year.
Goodwin plays along side another former Kentucky Wildcat in PG Eric Bledsoe who is having an amazing season averaging 17.3 points and 5.7 assists per game.
