With nine McDonald’s All-Americans on Kentucky’s 2014-15 roster some were wondering what would become of forward Derek Willis. The is why it was no surprise to anyone when Yahoo! Sports writer Pat Forde tweeted out that the 6’9″ Willis was weighing his transferring options.
Well apparently the rumors and concerns are unfounded. Derek Willis made is clear via his own Twitter account that he is staying at Kentucky for his sophomore year and he doesn’t want to be bothered anymore about it.
I am not transferring or leaving Kentucky quit bothering me about the situation . It is annoying and untrue #BBN

The Bullitt East star played a total of 39 minutes in his freshman season, he scored a total of 16 points and eight rebounds.
You have to respect his willing to play for minutes against big time competition in practice with Trey Lyles, Alex Poythress, Karl Towns and others battling for playing time. Of course even with limited playing time Willis has a great chance of getting a National Championship ring.
