Per WLKY this morning, former Auburn Tiger and Louisville Cardinal football player, Zeke Pike was arrested over the weekend on an alcohol related charge. A former standout quarterback out of Dixie Heights High School and enrolled at Auburn in January of 2012 but was dismissed from the team after an arrest in June 2012 for Public Intoxication.
Pike enrolled at UofL in August of 2012 and sat out due to NCAA rules. Pike played sparingly in 2013, seeing action in seven games and recording one catch for four yards. He mostly played on special teams and came close to blocking a few punts.
A source with UofL said, “He hasn’t been a member of the team since coach Petrino got here”.
Pike had a lot of talent and great size but seemed to battle off-the-field issues dating back to his senior year of high school. Pike was suspended for his final game at Dixie Heights for an undisclosed reason.
