The Kentucky Wildcats will be looking for their third straight SEC win Thursday night as the Arkansas Razorbacks come to Rupp Arena.
Kentucky is coming off a game winning lay in by Julius Randle verse LSU over the weekend. UK showed they have fight and will not give in when times are tough by taking the game to overtime before getting the victory.
Arkansas comes into the match up looking for a resume win. Expect a very aggressive team, who will come out fighting. They enter On a 3-game winning streak and 5/6. The Razorbacks put the pressure on defense, forcing 9 steals per game this season. They also have some depth, playing up to 12 players in a game.
Arkansas is lead by Bobby Portis who had himself a big first game in the win against UK. Portis averages 13.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Teammates Rashad Madden and Michael Qualls also score in double-figures.
If you remember back, Qualls was the Razorback who scored the game winning basket for ARK at home with a put back dunk.
Kentucky will look to use their size and rebounding ability, ranked 6th in the nation. Arkansas is currently ranked 93rd so this is a category UK must win unlike the first meeting.
I also expect to see a lot of the Aaron/Andrew Harrison penetration offense. Kentucky’s best sets are when one of the two drive to the rack, scoring, creating or setting up a offensive rebound for 2nd chance points which UK owns.
Kentucky is favored by 10 points by VegasInsider.com which seems kinda high but not outrageous. I do pick UK to win as the “revenge tour” is in full swing. Cats 73-65
