LSU comes to Rupp Arena Saturday for a 4:00pm tip versus Kentucky. The Tigers will look to steal win two versus UK this season after winning the matchup in Baton Rouge 87-82 January 28th.

If you remember back, LSU absolutely controlled the entire first meeting. From the tip, the Tigers gained a quick lead, up 16 points at one point during the the first half, another time during the second half before Kentucky made very late three balls to cut the final score.

Johnny O’Bryant was key for LSU as he has been their leader all year. Owned the paint and glass from the tip, finishing with 29 points and 9 rebounds in the first meeting.

Since that win for LSU, they have went 2-3. Victories over Arkansas and Auburn while losing to Arkansas, Georgia and Texas A&M.

Saturday’s game will be much different though in my opinion. Kentucky knows they lost to LSU and will want pay back. The slow start or big defect will be non-existence, especially being at home.

The inside guys of Julius Randle and Willie Cauley-Stein must show up unlike the previous match up. They combined for 9 points and 11 rebounds. If it wasn’t for Dakari Johnson, UK may have lost by 30. He played his best game off the bench, scoring 15 and keeping Kentucky in reach.

LSU coach Johnny Jones took time to chat about the game between LSU and UK.

My prediction, Kentucky wins this game by double-figures. There will be no let up like the Ole Miss game. The guards of Kentucky are much bigger and have learned some defense since that last game so I expect a full 40 minutes performance by the team. 79-64 UK.
