Both Montrezl Harrell and Willie Cauley-Stein passed up opportunities Monday to head to the NBA early. Harrell and Cauley-Stein will both be juniors next season and will play a vital role for their teams.
Harrell told the media Monday that he was being told that he would be picked from 17th to 30th in the 2014 NBA draft. The 7-foot Cauley-Stein was also projected in the middle of the first round by most scouting sites.
So will staying improve their draft stock for 2015? DraftExpress.com seems to think so. In their latest 2015 NBA mock draft they have Cauley-Stein going at No.8 and Harrell at No.9. They also have Poythress and the Harrison Twins in the 2015 draft as well as several of Kentucky’s incoming freshman.
In DraftExpress.com’s 2014 mock draft Julius Randle is projected as the 4th pick by the Utah Jazz. James Young is at No. 15 to the Atlanta Hawks.
Louisville’s Russ Smith is projected as the No.47th pick in the draft by the 76ers.
