Isaiah Canaan was just sent back down to the NBA’s development league over the weekend. His first game back with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers he scores 35 points and helped beat the Iowa Energy, 131-126. He also had seven assists, five rebounds and three steals while playing just over 45 minutes.
The former Murray Stater star has played in 21 games this year for the Houston Rockets. He is averaging 4.7 points and 1.1 rebounds per game while averaging just under 11 minutes.
Canaan was drafted in the second-round by Houston in the 2013 draft as the 34th pick overall. Houston seems to really like him, but wants him to work on his game a little bit more. He had played in 18 games for the Vipers this season before tonight averaging 21.8 points, four rebounds and 8.2 assists per game.
