The LA Lakers beat the OKC Thunder Sunday, 114-110, thanks to former Kentucky Wildcats shooting guard Jodie Meeks. Meeks scored a career high 42 points, going 14-14 from the free throw stripe. He also had six threes pointers to go with four steals and two rebounds.
He is averaging 14.2 points in 14 minutes per game this season. His career average is 9.2 points per game.
“He got on fire,” Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni said via USAToday. “He has really improved his game. Defensively, he was out of sight on Russell Westbrook the whole time. He put out a lot of energy in this game, but he has been doing that on a pretty consistent basis. Jodie has been our most consistent performer. It’s really fun to watch someone get better.”
