Congratulations to the Kentucky Cheerleading squad as they captured their 20th National Championship yesterday.
Kentucky reclaimed the title down in Orlando at the Wide World of Sports complex after placing 2nd last year. Yesterday’s win was the squads 15th National title since 1995, only missing out on the trophy five times in that time.
UK cheer coach Jomo Thompson spoke of the teams victory per UKAthletics.com:
“I’m just fortunate to have been a part of this program for so long and I love UK. I love UK cheerleading. I’m just glad I’m here to experience it with the kids. We strive every day to be the best. It’s just a great thing that we’ve won so many times. It just speaks to the history and the tradition of winning and be the best.”
