Just checked UKAthletics.com and saw that they posted the NCAA had finalized the 2013 college football attendance stats. One of the numbers that stands out is the increase of attendance from the 2012 season to 2013 as Kentucky came in 2nd in America.
The Big Blue Nation averaged 59,472 per game last season. This was an increase of 9,781 from the 2012 campaign. Kentucky ranked 29th in the nation in average attendance per game. The national average hit 45,192.
What’s notable about this stat is the 2012 season was the end of the Joker Phillips era, one most fans wanted to end before it began. This past season was Mark Stoops and staff’s first year, bringing in the hype to the program which brought the increase as the records were the same.
Heading into 2014 Stoops has again brought the hype by signing the Best recruiting class in school history so don’t be surprised if Kentucky attendance increases again next fall.
