Wait, What? Louisville has been plowing through the American Athletic Conference tournament and are preparing to take on UConn in the championship Saturday at 6pm. That does not impress ESPN bracket guru Joe Lunardi, who Saturday moved Louisville from a 3-seed to a 4 in his latest bracketology.
Of course SMU and Cincinnati losing in the AAC tourney didn’t help Louisville’s RPI, but Louisville seems to be playing on a level all their own.
CBSSports.com’s Jerry Palm does have Louisville as a 2-seed, he has them playing EKU in the first-round. Lunardi has Louisville playing Manhattan, which would be a fun story with Pitino going against another ex-assistant in Steve Masiello.
Kentucky is now seeded at No.6 in both bracket predictions after dominating LSU Friday night. Both seem to think that the Wildcats have turned it around for good and will beat Georgia handily Saturday at 3pm.
Lunardi has the Cats playing either BYU or Dayton in the first-round, Palm has Kentucky playing Manhattan.
Palm also has Louisville and Kentucky in the same region, although UK would have to go through Michigan State and/or Creighton to get there.
