Marcus Lee didn’t play too much his freshman year for the Kentucky Wildcats, but there was a small chance he was going to leave for the NBA after the way he stepped in for Willie Cauley-Stein in the NCAA Tournament, especially against Michigan. Lee will be returning for his sophomore year, according to UK.
“I’ve really enjoyed my college experience and I’m looking forward to continuing to develop as an all-around player,” Lee said. “Playing in the Final Four was such an amazing feeling, but I want to come back and help win that final game this year.”
Kentucky will have a stocked front-court next season and the question of whether Dakari Johnson will return or not is still out there.
Lee averaged 2.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.6 blocks while playing just 6.3 minutes per game his freshman year. He came to Kentucky considered the 17th-best player in his class by Rivals.com.
