Louisville Cardinals guard Shoni Schimmel played her last game of her college career Tuesday after losing to Maryland in the Elite Eight. Schimmel had an amazing career in Louisville and will now be heading to the WNBA. According to DraftSite.com, the 5’10″ guard from Mission, Oregon is projected as the 12th pick to the Minnesota Lynx in up coming draft.
Shoni Schimmel scored 31 points Tuesday nights game to end her career, she drained three threes to put the Cardinals in a chance to tie but was unable to make the shot at the buzzer.
Schimmel is the fourth Cardinal all-time to score of 1,000 points and pass 500 assists in her career, she is 2nd on the schools all-time scoring list and she owns the record for most threes made.
Shoni is a special player and she will be missed. I guarantee any team that does pick her up will be thankful not only for her abilities, but also for the amount of fans from all over the nation she will bring in.
The mock draft has Louisville forward Antonita Slaughter going 22nd to the Chicago Sky.
