Todd Grantham will be Louisville’s new defensive coordinator after being at Georgia with the same position since 2010. Kevin Steele, who is Alabama’s player personnel director, was offered the position first from Bobby Petrino, but turned it down Friday.

According to Joe Schad, Grantham has received a five-year deal that will see him paid $1 million a year. He made 850,000 dollars at Georgia.

Grantham runs a 3-4 defense while coaching along side Mark Richt. His defense is known for making turnovers, although this past year came under criticism and some fans wanted him to leave.

He was an assistant at Virginia Tech and Michigan State before going to the NFL with the Colts, Cowboys, Browns and Texans.
