USA basketball released their 28-man roster for Team USA today. In this pool of 28 NBA studs include three former Kentucky Wildcats and one Morehead State Eagle.
Returning to Team USA as a “veteran” is Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans. Davis played with the previous Team USA during the Olympics after Blake Griffin went down with an injury beforehand. He is averaging 20.2 points, 10.3 boards and 3 blocks per game.
The other former Cat making his first appearance comes in Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins. He makes the roster after currently having his best year as a pro. Averaging 22.6 points and 11.6 redounds, Cousins has worked his way into one of the best centers in the league.
Not just Kentucky players made the Team USA pool as former Morehead State Eagle forward Kenneth Faried found his name on the list. The current Denver Nugget averages 10.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and is an absolute motor on the court. The perfect teammate for a roster full of gigantic egos. Congrats to all three!
