UFC returns to Cincinnati May 10th

It’s been 7 years since the UFC has been to Cincinnati and almost 5 years since they have traveled anywhere in the state of Ohio.  That will change as a FoxSports1 televised event is set to take place on May 10th at US Bank Arena.

There have been three fights announced thus far.  They are:

Ed Herman vs Rafael Natal

Herman is a 33 year old from Vancouver.  His pro MMA record is 21-10 losses, 5 KOs and 13 submissions.  Ed was a finalist on “The Ultimate Fighter” where he trained under legendary MMA veteran Ken Shamrock.

Natal is a 31 year old fighter from Brazil.  His pro MMA record is 17-5 with 3 KOs and 8 submissions.  Natal lost to Tim Kennedy via this Knockout in the Main Event of “UFC Fight For The Troops 3” which was held at Fort Campbell in Kentucky.

Soa Palelei vs Ruan Potts

Palelei is a 34 yr old, 6 ft 4 inch heavyweight with a pro record of 20-3 with 16 KOs & 4 submissions.  Soa is from Newcastle, Australlie and his nickname is “The Hulk”.

Potts is a 6 foot, 2 inch heavyweight with a pro record of 8-1 with 4 KOs & 4 submissions.  His only career loss came via decision.  What really intrigues me about Potts is that I searched for a solid 3 minutes online and couldn’t find his date of birth.  He is a big, bad mysterious heavyweight MMA fighter from Africa.

Justin Salas vs Ben Wall

The 31 year old Salas has a professional MMA record of 11-5 with 3 KOs and 3 submissions.  Justin is from Green River Wyoming and his nickname is “J-Bone”.

Wall is 24 years old & has a pro record of 7-1, with 1 KO and 2 submissions.  He is from Queensland, Australlia & his first career loss came December 7th via KO to Alex Garcia.
