Kentucky forward Derek Willis played a total of 39 minutes in his freshman season, he scored a total of 16 points and eight rebounds. Willis’ surely was hoping that his sophomore season would be a little bit different, but with Trey Lyles and Karl Towns coming in and only Julius Randle and James Young leaving it looks like Willis wont will see most of the 2014-15 season from the bench.
According to Pat Forde of Yahoo! Sports, Willis is no weighing his options.
Kentucky F Derek Willis weighing transfer options, per multiple sources. Not a surprise. Barely played as a freshman, will be same next yr.

The 6’9″ former Bullitt East star came to Kentucky as a top 100 recruit, picking the Cats over Louisville and several others. He averaged over 17 points per game and almost 10 rebounds per game his senior season.
I don’t think anyone is surprised Willis is thinking about transferring, nor would anyone blame him. He has some talent and could turn into a fantastic college basketball player.
