Former Louisville Cardinal and current Minnesota Timberwolves big man Gorgui Dieng has had an amazing past two months. He was even named Western Conference rookie of the month for March. Friday night not only did he have 12 points and 20 rebounds, but he also hit the game-winner to beat the Houston Rockets at home. He also had three assists, two blocks and two steals while playing 38 minutes.
Dieng is getting a lot more playing time due to some injury issues for the Timberwolves. Louisville fans are well aware of how the 6’11″ Senegal native can step up and do the things it takes for your team to win.
Gorgui Dieng’s game-winner marked the 45th time in club history the Wolves have won a game by scoring the deciding points with 5 sec or less
